Welcome
March is Blood Clot Awareness Month. An estimated 900,000 people in the United States are affected by a blood clot every year, regardless of age, gender, or race. Yet studies have shown that fewer than 1 in 4 people recognize the signs of blood clots. Blood Clot Awareness Month is a great reminder to educate patients about the signs, symptoms, and dangers of blood clots. Annual observances highlight the critical need for awareness, prevention, and treatment of blood clots—serious but often preventable medical conditions.
This month, we spotlight the efforts of the National Blood Clot Alliance (Stop the Clot) and World Thrombosis Day, a global initiative led by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). These organizations work hard to educate both clinicians and the public about the risks, signs, and management of venous thromboembolism (VTE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and pulmonary embolism (PE).
We invite you to explore the curated resources below—designed to support healthcare professionals in improving patient care, increasing awareness, and advancing best practices in thrombosis prevention and treatment.
